- Open Outlook 2002
- Click on TOOLS
- Click on "E-MAIL ACCOUNTS"
- In the E-mail Accounts dialog box, click to
select "Add a new E-mail Account", and then click "NEXT"
- In the Server Type dialog box, click "POP3,"
and then click "NEXT"
- In the E-mail Accounts dialog box, enter the
required information by using the following guidelines:
- User Information - Your Name: This should
be your full name (for example: John Smith)
- e-mail address: This should be your full
e-mail address (for example: jsmith@edarias.com)
- Log on Information User Name: This is the
part of your e-mail address to the left of the "@" sign (for example:
jsmith)
- Password: Enter the same password you use
for log in
- You may check the box to have Outlook
remember your e-mail account password
- Make sure your mail server is set to POP3
server type
- Type in your incoming POP3 server name:
mail.edarias.com
- Type in your outgoing SMTP server name: SMTP
server of your Internet Provider
- Test Account Settings. This is a new
capability in Outlook 2002. This feature calls a dialog box that displays, in
a step-by-step manner, each phase of testing the configuration that you have
just input. The following occurs when you click Test Account Settings:
- The connectivity of your system to the
Internet is confirmed
- You are logged on to the SMTP server
- You are logged on to the POP3 server
- It is determined if the POP3 server needs
to be logged on to first. If necessary, Outlook automatically sets Log on
to incoming mail server before messages are sent
- A test message is sent. This message
explains any changes that Outlook made to your initial setup.
- Click "OK"

Outlook 98 / 2000
- Open Outlook 98
- Click on "TOOLS"

- Click on "MAIL" tab
- Click on "ADD" button
- Select "MAIL"

Account Settings."
- Click the "New Account" button to activate the
New Account wizard
- Choose "ISP or e-mail provider," and click
"NEXT."
- In the Identity section, enter your name (for
example: John Smith) and e-mail address (for example: jsmith@edarias.com), and
click "NEXT"
- In the Server Information section, select
"POP3"
- Type in your incoming POP3 server name:

- Type in your outgoing SMTP server name:

- From "Edit" menu select "Preferences"
- Click the "+" next to "Mail & Groups" and
select "Identity"
- In the Your Name text box, type your name
- In the Your Email text box, type your e-mail
address. (For example: jsmith@edarias.com)
- Under "Mail & Groups," select "Mail Server"
- Under Incoming Mail Servers, click once on
"Mail" to highlight it
- Click on the "Edit" button
- In the Server Name text box, type in:
